SRO E-Sport GT Series
With the current COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, many racing drivers have been resorting to SIM racing to keep sharp and to enjoy wheel to wheel competition. It has grown to the point that a lot of major championships are running official online championships. I did the first round of the SRO E-Sport GT Series at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago and after being taken out on lap 2, it was a long run to the flag. We moved on to Spa yesterday and being the only BMW M6 on the grid it's difficult from a setup point of view and we can see from the SIM side of the championships that it's a little way off the pace. I was happy to qualify in 24th out of 48 cars and had a race long battle with Scott Malvern's Bentley to finish in P8. There was lots of drama and incidents on the way and I was really pleased to cross the line in the points. I'm entered under Walkenhorst Motorsport so it's onto our home race next weekend at the Nurburgring. The two opening tracks are probably the best for the BMW, but you never know and we'll keep pushing - I just need to remember not to turn onto the the Nordschleife at the end of the lap!
